Recently, in Savchenko et al. (2020) we studied different parameters of spiral structure for a sample of 155 spiral galaxies. We showed that the width of spiral arms increases with radius for the vast majority of spiral galaxies. By comparing the properties of spiral structure in flocculent, multi-armed and grand design galaxies, we did not find strong differences between these three types of spiral arms, excluding their view (color and brightness) and arm number. Here you can find the results of our fitting. Below I show SDSS thumbnail images for three typical galaxies in our sample.
